It's always Hut Season...

Well Friends, We were going to call this post "It's hut season again" but its always hut season! It just transitions from hiking hut season to touring hut season. So whether you ski tour or split board tour, here are a few quick thoughts to help get your brain back in the swing of things.  1. Go through your touring setup and make sure your gear is in good condition. Make sure you have extra straps, buckles, parts, duct tape etc. So you don't get stuck in the back country 2. Gear We Love! - The Biolite Camp Stove.

We usually focus on amazing locations, hikes, adventures, photos and stories but we've been loving this camp stove so much, we thought we'd share a little stoke with all of you.  Living in Canada's oldest national park is such a privilege and we agree 100% with the preservation of Earth's nature treasures.  Along with that mindset comes the desire to practice responsible habits like low impact camping etc.  This stove provides you with opportunity to cook food and boil water without burning fossil fuels.  You can either carry in some "biomass" (aka wood, fire pellets, pinecones etc.) or if you're camping in a free range area just collect any random biomass thats within an arms reach and get cooking. Mt. Assiniboine... Off the bucket list.

Well Friends,  This week was a big one for us. We've been in Banff for a long time but there has been one trip on the bucket list that we just haven't managed to tick off..... Until now.  This week we finally made our pilgrimage into the promised land.  Mt. Assiniboine Provincial Park.  Every year it seems that something came up and we ended up letting that year pass by without hiking this magnificent trail.  This year we were lucky enough to book one of the Nayset Huts and have 4 days to hike in, explore the area and hike back out.  After assembling an all-star team of top notch friends and hiking companions, we set off from Sunshine Meadows...

Summer Adventures!

We live for the next few days off, the next adventure, the next trip to that spot you love or have yet to discover.  We'd like to encourage you to schedule some time this summer, plan a few days to just get out into nature. Find a new beautiful spot to unplug and drink in the smells and sounds around you. You don't have to hike 20km or have all the fancy camping gear. it can be a day trip or a week long trek. Just try to make it a priority and we promise you'll be so glad you did. It doesn't even have to be in Banff.... Buuuuuut we're pretty sure that's the best place to do it....
